YBS [wai-bee-es], founded in Oxford in 2022, challenges the perception of Oxford as elitist and out of touch, and aims to reveal the other more diverse side of the city, giving a voice to it’s street and skate scenes, showcasing their unique contributions to fashion and community and distilling them into fresh and authentic apparel.
As we grow, we’re committed to keeping this production sustainable both on an environmental and social level. Our vision is to create a mixed media symbiotic ecosystem that provides a platform to everyone involved, from the designers, tailors, models and photographers – to the venues and artists we collab with.
Flipping the script on traditional retail and embracing the principles of slow fashion, we propose an initiative celebrating local identity, individuality, and craftsmanship through clothing. Let's hijack fashion and reclaim streetwear for the community, restoring its authenticity and purpose, be it through collaboration or simply by wearing it.
